Animal behaviour studies would fall within intelligent design #3

According to the ID theory (we’re really in need to put things in, given the almost empty basis proponents are leaving us with –don’t forget that it’s also an open minded theory according to Pratchett’s definition), all things natural should directly point out, not only as to how perfectly designed creatures are, but also as to how their wonderful behaviour is designed. Based on this assumption, Seeds Aside just keeps noticing just how far certain natural behaviours require further explanation under an ID view of life… Here are we back for this single but recurrent observation, so… ID proponentsists (or the other creationist kinds), any word about it?
Linneaus Legacy #16

So this is my take on Linnaeus Legacy. I have to admit that I was really wondering how to put pieces together into a coherent and decent prosaic carnival (at least it seems coherent now). Eventually, things went out straight naturally, and I am left with wondering if this has actually a meaning or not. I’ll let you consider the question and make your mind about it.
But first I have an important disclaimer to add: it is your responsability if you read this. I know we’re still with Linneaus Legacy below 18, but my intent is only educationnal. I sincerely apologise for destroying my fellow bloggers efforts into decent science popularisation. Any other interpretation is your own only.

I don’t tell you anything about this, but I swear this is really worth reading. Really.

It’s above Expelled being exposed for what it is, a shameful piece of typical fraudulent creationist propaganda. Greg Laden’s has an excellent piece about the case bringing the (cell) gap into a general public discussion. Maybe he’s right, and American people may eventually end up with a better understanding and knowledge than any other people worldwide as to what cells are made of and as to how they function. Finally creationism has found its use: serve as an anchor to educate lay people into the true nature wonders… Or would the compulsive commitment to a fair treatment occuring there (actually completely unfair since it’s giving equal weight to a handful of lies) become the major cultural obstacle to a better understanding of the world?
Ah, fair treatment. Let’s revive the stork theory… (more…)
Expell it two times.

Expelled… This is all you have to do.
Expelled. For a consequent and factual presentation of flaws and frauds in the Expelled movie.
In case you don’t read the blogs from my bog roll (on the right side, frankly you should read them!), and you’re not in the USA at all, and creationism is not your cup of tea (you’re lucky then, but beware what your children are told at school), then don’t bother. For more details, here or here and drift from these should introduce you to the story.

A few days ago, my daughter left a drawing next to the table. As always, I give a look to see how things are evolving. She’s almost four and spends hours drawing on recurrent themes and revisiting the classics (princesses and heroes). You can guess my surprise when it turned out the drawing was actually like this:
Damn! An histogram with standard deviations and an almost perfect fitting curve!

If you’re well read into the evo-creo controversy, there is a new controversy to be found there. Hilarious.

I was recently asked for use of one of my picture on flickR to illustrate a student book. When reading this, I readily became very happy: at least my picture is going to be somewhat usefull for biology students. Alas, as I was reading, it became clear very soon that my picture was about to be used in a pro-Intelligent Design creationist text-book.
