A sandy behaviour

Which animal tries to hide its head in the sand when facing a danger?

This one of course!
Hide hide hide!

As far as I can tell, this is really efficient, for it took less than a dozen seconds. So not only does this crab have a somewhat cryptic livery with lovely barnacle companions, but it does engage into this very fast defence behaviour. Does it tell something about the time needed by potential predators (gulls I guess, since they are quite opportunistic feeders) to come by the crab spot they just noticed?

Do I really look like a seagull? I don’t even look like a see guy!
